In this 101 blog post I will teach you how to be the social media queen! Learn the basics of social media management with me:
ORGANIZATION:
I cannot stress this point enough! GET ORGANIZED RIGHT NOW! Get a cup of coffee, put on some music and put those ideas in folders NOW. If you don't know where your resources or something you saw days ago, no point. Don't do this to yourself, please! The wallpaper you downloaded or saw today might not work for this particular post but it will be beneficial tomorrow (not necessarily, but definitely gives me some creative ideas later).
Have a MOOD BOARD:
YES YES YES. Get a mood board for EVERY SINGLE PROJECT. again, what might not be the best option for you today, can be an inspiration for tomorrow. Most importantly, a mood board helps you get your creative juices going and is a reminder of what you're really looking for. Chances are you won't get off the track when you use a mood board.
Know your APPS and WEBSITES:
Know your apps and websites; basically your resources. Learn how to make the best of these resources. Do not download 15 apps and use them all because they all have different content and resources. They will, but you need to learn to choose the best one out of them all. Remember, quality over quantity. Use apps and resources that benefit YOU; what worked for 10 people doesn't mean it will work for you as well.
RESEARCH similar posts/accounts:
Find your inspiration from similar accounts. Find people with the same niche as yours on social media. Now observe how frequently they post, what resources they use, how they chose their color palette, and what is the difference between the content they post on the story and as a social media post. Learn their tactics, and look how the likes increase- this expresses their growth process.
Be CONSISTENT:
If you don't do well once in a while or maybe you're hitting a rough patch, I still recommend posting. Keep up with your audience, tell them you are present. Personalize their experience as much as possible while using a mass outreach tool. I understand that this is a tough job but I will make a post about this later (maybe).
PRACTICE:
Keep looking for new wallpapers, features, etc whenever you can. It will help you gain more knowledge and experience more resources and designs. Play with new designs, features and make the best of your resources. Try different keywords, different fonts, different wallpapers, etc!
TRACK your progress:
Make sure to keep track of how many story views you had when you started, keep a daily log and track the number of likes as well. This will help you understand the progress you're making in the long run! *also looks good on a resume hehheheh*
Use the APP STORE:
Some of the best apps are featured on the app store stories, check them out! They sometimes have some great apps that can help you with everything- from productivity to scheduling your post! They won't always work out, but always try to get your hands on any new technology there is!
Google and Pinterest: your new besties:
Make Google and Pinterest your new best friend because they will give you everything you will ever need! Don't just use Pinterest to get wallpapers, use them to watch some tutorials of new apps, discover new things! Use google to find new marketing techniques and how to make your posts better each day!
